La courbe des cas positifs au coronavirus ne cesse de grimper au Togo. Dans le lot, la préfecture du Golfe se taille la part du lion.
Selon le directeur préfectoral de la santé du Golfe, Dr Koffi Agbétiafa, la préfecture du Golfe n’est pas un bon élève en matière de lutte contre la pandémie du coronavirus. « Nous sommes les pourvoyeurs principaux des chiffres, 52 % des cas positifs. Cela est probablement dû au relâchement de la population, les gens ne respectent plus de façon rigoureuse comme au début les mesures barrières », a-t-il expliqué au micro de nos confrères de Victoire Fm.
En effet, sur les 10654 personnes déclarées positives sur toute l’étendue du territoire à ce jour, 5135 résident dans la préfecture du Golfe’’. « Sur les 174 recensés hier, nous sommes à 124. Au niveau du Golfe, il faut que nous prenions sérieusement conscience de la chose. Il y a un travail énorme que nous devons faire », a indiqué Dr Koffi Agbétiafa.
Pour contrer cette situation qui prévaut dans la préfecture du Golfe, le médecin appelle à l’application « stricte et rigoureuse » des nouvelles mesures prises par le gouvernement, qui selon lui renforce la stratégie de lutte menée jusque-là.
La préfecture du Golfe en termes de population est la plus peuplée du Togo. Elle couvre environ 20% de la population togolaise.
