Les acteurs de la vie politique au Togo notamment de l’opposition, se trouvent à un tournant décisif de leurs actions. Entre négocier et rester radical, Antoine Folly, le délégué général de l’Union des démocrates socialistes (UDS-Togo) fait son choix et donne les raisons.
Pour l’ex lieutenant de la C14, le dialogue est incontournable aujourd’hui pour provoquer l’alternance au Togo. « Ceux qui nous disent de ne pas négocier, de ne pas discuter avec le régime, j’aurais aimé qu’ils nous proposent autre chose. Aller dans la rue ? Ce n’est pas à moi qu’il faut donner une leçon là-dessus. Ceux qui se font la guerre s’assoient après et négocient la paix. Donc moi j’ai bon espoir que ce que nous n’avons pas pu obtenir par la rue, nous pouvons l’avoir par la négociation, par le dialogue. Peut-être que je suis trop optimiste mais de ce que j’ai vu jusqu’à présent, cette volonté existe de part et d’autre de parvenir à un compromis politique qui permet au Togo de se lancer véritablement sur la voie de la démocratie », a détaillé Antoine Folly le week-end sur une radio locale.
D’autre part, l’opposant a affirmé qu’aucun leader ne peut réussir tout seul la lutte démocratique au Togo. « C’est notre philosophie : aucun parti de l’opposition ne peut réussir tout seul. Une fois qu’on sera dans un régime vraiment démocratique, là chaque parti aura l’occasion de montrer aux Togolais ce qu’il est et la quintessence de son projet politique. Mais aujourd’hui, notre combat doit être un combat pour la conquête de la démocratie. Nous à l’UDS, notre objectif n’est pas de rester dans l’opposition à vie. Notre vocation est de parvenir au pouvoir et sachant que nous ne pouvons pas y parvenir tout seul, nous prônons l’action unitaire des forces démocratiques pour atteindre cet objectif », a affirmé Antoine Folly.
Par ailleurs, des partis politiques échangent actuellement dans un cadre de concertation pour bien préparer les régionales. Si le CAR a claqué la porte, la DMK de son côté se cantonne toujours sur le règlement du contentieux électoral né de l’élection du 22 février 2020 et ne compte pas prendre part aux négociations.
