Les professionnelles des chaines de valeurs agricoles ainsi que les acteurs institutionnels ont débuté ce jeudi 24 juin 2021 à Lomé, une rencontre de validation des plans de développement des filières volaille, maïs, riz et tomate.
Cette rencontre s’inscrit dans le cadre de la mise en œuvre du Projet d’appui au Mécanisme incitatif de financement agricole (ProMIFA) sur le financement du FIDA et va durer deux jours.
Les participants auront à analyser davantage le contenu des plans de développement des filières volaille, maïs, riz et tomate ; s’assurer de l’ alignement des objectifs des plans de développement des filières à ceux des ambitions stratégiques de la feuille de route du gouvernement 2020-2025, valider les plans de développement des filières volaille, maïs, riz et tomate.
En effet, le processus d’élaboration de ces plans de développement de filières a été conduit par la FAO à travers une convention de partenariat signée avec le MIFA SA.
Selon Djiwa, chargé de programme à la FAO, le développement des filières agricoles est considéré comme une approche adéquate pour générer de la croissance dans les zones rurales et améliorer les moyens de subsistance des populations.
Il a précisé que dans un premier temps, le travail de la FAO et du gouvernement togolais a consisté à sillonner tout le pays pour connaitre pour chaque culture la cartographie des grandes zones de productions, déceler les acteurs en place, les besoins de chacune des filières afin d’atteindre les ambitions fixées par la feuille de route et les objectifs de développement durable d’ici 2030.
Ainsi, dans la filière maïs, l’ambition est de porter de 1,23T/ha le rendement à 6T/ha et emblaver 35000 hectares supplémentaires en vue de produire au moins 211 000 tonnes de maïs de grains de bonne qualité, cela nécessitera environ 146,929 milliards de FCFA.
Pour la filière riz, le Togo vise une production de 817 004 tonnes de riz paddy et cela nécessitera environ 986,925 milliards de FCFA.
Pour la filière tomate, l’ambition d’ici 2030, est de produire environ 234 430 tonnes de tomate fruit dont la moitié sera transformée. Ce qui nécessitera un financement d’environ 235,882 milliards de FCFA.
Enfin dans la filière volaille, le Togo prévoit dans une production de 30 000 tonnes supplémentaires de viande de poulet à l’horizon 2030 et cela nécessitera environ 480,46 milliards de FCFA
L’ambition à l’horizon 2030 pour ces 4 filières demande une mobilisation de plus de 1800 milliards de FCFA.
