La session des assises 2021 de la Cour d’Appel est ouverte depuis le lundi 05 juillet 2021 à Lomé. Les magistrats vont trancher plusieurs dossiers parmi lesquels des sujets liés à la pédophilie et au viol.
Sur 140 individus accusés de « crimes graves », 20 sont impliqués dans des affaires de pédophilie et viol en raison de 10 chacune.
D’autre part, l’affaire qui a retenu l’attention des uns et des autres au début des procès est celle accusant 9 individus de « piraterie maritime », de « violence volontaire », de « tentatives de vol » et de « groupement de malfaiteurs ».
Après avoir écouté l’accusation, la partie civile et la défense, la Cour a dans sa délibération, condamné une personne, cerveau du groupe à 15 ans de réclusion criminelle et à 5 ans d’interdiction du territoire togolais. Les 8 restants ont écopé entre autres d’une peine de de douze (12) ans de réclusion criminelle.
Les autres dossiers qui seront traités durant les 6 semaines que vont durer les assises ont trait, entre autres, à l’ infraction contre les stupéfiants, au coup mortel, homicide volontaire, enlèvement de mineure, , tentative d’enlèvement de mineure, trafic et vente d’enfants, détournement de derniers publics, infanticide et traite des personnes.
Pour la tenue de cette première session des assises, a précisé le Procureur général près la Cour d’Appel de Lomé, Gnambi Kodjo Garba, la Cour d’Appel de Lomé a bénéficié d’un financement de plus de 81 millions de FCFA.
